Social Media Marketing 2014

Social Media Marketing 2014

In today’s day and age, in order for a company to truly succeed in the online world, they must master social media marketing. That’s because social media allows businesses to effectively and efficiently promote themselves directly to their potential customers. When the right methods are employed, this will help websites gain not only traffic, but the attention it so desperately needs.

When it comes to social media marketing, a company’s goal should be creating content that will not only make readers stop in their track and take notice, but also encourage those same people to share what they just saw and read with their social networks. The hope here is that the company’s message will spread from user to user, until it is widely seen all over the globe. However, this method typically produces better results than a company just sharing the content themselves, because the information is now coming from a third party. In other words, it doesn’t feel like a company is trying to sell you information in order to benefit themselves. Instead, this content is being handed to you from a trusted, impartial individual like yourself. After all, social media marketing is generally a result of word-of-mouth, so this kind of publicity is not being driven from paid media.

So, what types of platforms are included in social media marketing? Well, where do we begin? There are social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram, Google + and even Linkedin. Basically, these sites allow users to connect with their friends and family around the clock, giving their thoughts and opinions on all sorts of topics. Of course, when someone we personally know is recommending a product, we are more likely to give it a try than when a stranger endorses an item. Besides this, social media websites also give us ways to track a certain area or product we are interested in. For example, on Twitter there is a term called hashtags. Basically, when you click on a hashtag, you are able to see everyone who is discussing this term on the social media site. This gives us the opportunity to gain some insight into what everyone else is thinking when it comes to the product or business. Of course, social media also provides companies with a way to connect directly with their potential consumers. Long gone are the days where marketing was only two dimensional. Now, businesses can talk to their customers, picking up important feedback on what they are doing right and what needs to be tweaked. With social media, companies can also better promote their new services right to the people who are most likely to buy what they are selling.

Today, if a company wants to build a strong and loyal relationship with their customers, it is crucial they develop a strong social media presence. Through these kinds of websites, they have the ability to market who they are and what they are selling better than ever before. It really is the key to success.
